Photo Adventure : Fall Trip to the Dallas Arboretum
The Dallas Arboretum are an urban oasis of beautiful plants and flowers for visitors to enjoy. Claire and I visited with a Visit Dallas press trip in early November. Unfortunately for us, our day was dreary and wet! The flowers were anything but!
We enjoyed our time there. A nicer day would have allowed for further exploration, which we would have enjoyed. I would like to return in the spring for Dallas Blooms! when they pack the Arboretum with tulips as far as the eye can see.
Dallas Arboretum often has special exhibits. This was part of their Dale Chihuly glass exhibit.
Another Dale Chihuly instillation.
Sculptures are intertwined with the trees and flowers to give the Arboretum a garden ambiance.
Another special exhibit when we visited were the Small Artist Houses. This is Monet’s house.
Each small house mirrored the artist’s style in the plants surrounding it. This is Van Gogh’s.
The fall brings thousands of pumpkins to the Dallas Arboretum. They are composted for use in the gardens.
Along with the thousands of fall pumpkins, we found Cinderella’s carriage, complete with plant horses!
The Dallas Arboretum sits next to scenic White Rock Lake.
